
Kristen's Marinara Sauce

Special notes to save time. I freeze chopped onion, and add to any stove top recipe. I use pre-minced garlic or garlic paste, and I don't feel like the flavor has been sacrificed. I also will make this sauce the night before. It reheats very nicely.

Heat 1 T olive oil. (I prefer a Dutch oven)

Sauté onion and garlic 3-4 minutes.

Add both cans of tomatoes.

Let simmer several minutes.

Add wine, bring to a boil, 5 minutes.

Add herbs, salt, and pepper. Reduce to simmer.

Add sugar, continue to simmer several minutes.

Continue to simmer 10 minutes.
