This is my first time making this delicious recipe, which is a tradition in my country.

In a bowl, combine the cassava, cheese, salt, and eggs. Process for several minutes until the mixture comes together.

Spread the flour on a plate. Scoop out 1 tablespoon of the mixture, shape into balls, and roll them in the flour.

Fry the balls in a deep pan with oil until golden brown.

In a saucepan, combine the brown sugar cane, anise seeds, and water. Boil until the water reduces and the syrup thickens.

Let the syrup cool and strain it. Pour into a heatproof container.

To serve, pour a little syrup onto a small plate, add the fritters, and drizzle with more syrup.
