One of my favourite dishes that brings the flavour of punjab
Steps

Wash and soak the daal for atleast 4-5 hours before cooking

Now pressure cook the daal adding salt and turmeric powder
- 3
Heat oil in a pan add butter and temper the dry red chilli whole,bay leaf and methi seeds
- 4
Add onion slices and saute till it becomes slight brown
- 5
Add ginger garlic paste and saute well adding salt and turmeric powder
- 6
Now add jeera,dhaniya and red chilli Powder and mix well
- 7
Add tomato puree and saute well till the raw smell disappears
- 8
Now add the boiled daal and bring it to boil
- 9
Finally add kasuri methi and a generous helping of butter
- 10
Daal makhni is ready to be served
