Ingredients

  • 1 kgpork (you can use a mix of lean and some with fat)
  • 1 cupred wine (I used chianti)
  • 1/2 cupwater
  • 1 tsppepper powder
  • 2 tbspItalian herb mix
  • 3whole red chillies or chilli powder to your taste
  • Salt
  • 1large onion sliced
  • 2garlic cloves crushed

Steps

  1. 1

    In a large bowl place pork and pour water, wash well, pat dry and set aside

  2. 2

    In the slow cooker, place onions and layer pork over the onions

  3. 3

    Add garlic and Italian herb mix and rub on the meat, lightly massaging it

  4. 4

    Add wine and water

  5. 5

    Add salt, pepper and red chillies, place the lid and set the cooker on low settings and let it cook for 8-9 hours

  6. 6

    Once ready rest for 10 minutes and serve.
