Peel onions and slice it. Spread the onions on flat plate and keep it in direct sunlight till the onions dry up completely and are crispy enough. There should be no moisture in the onions.

Once dried completely, grind in mixer grinder jar to form fine powder.

Freshly prepared onion powder is ready to be used in soups and gravy.
