Ingredients

  • 500 gGunda
  • 250 gGrated Raw Mango
  • 250 gMethi Aachar Masala
  • 250 gPeanut Oil (Sing Tel)

Steps

  1. 1

    De-stalk and deseed the Gunda by scooping out the sticky pulp and seed.
    (Note: To deseed the Gundas, slightly crush the Gundas using a hand.

  2. 2

    Make a stuffing mixture from raw grated mangoes,Methi Aachar Masala and oil.
    Fill the Gundas with this stuffing and place it in a sterilized glass jar.

  3. 3

    Also place some remaining stuffing mixture on top of Gundas. Completely immerse the Gundas in oil to preserve for a whole year.

    Note:

    Only purchase Gunda that are fresh and firm,dark green in colour and without any blemishes to make pickle. You can substitute peanut oil with mustard oil or sesame oil.

Is Methi Achar Masala available ready-made? What brand is good? If I can't find it, how do I make the masala at home?
