Ingredients

20 minutes
3-5 servings
  1. 1 1/2 cupsblack masoor(Lentil), washed
  2. 2Green chillies, deseeded, chopped
  3. 1 tbspGreen coriander, chopped
  4. 2 tspGinger, finely chopped
  5. to tasteSaltand red chilli powder
  6. 1/2 tspChaat masala
  7. 1 tspmaida /all purpose flour
  8. 2 tbspCornflour
  9. 1/2 tspcoarsely ground garam masala
  10. as neededVegetable oil for frying
  11. 1/2 cupTo garnish and serve with finely chopped and sauted vegetables and salad of choice

Steps

  1. 1

    Boil the lentil in water till soft. Drain the excess water and mash the lentil well with a wooden spoon.

  2. 2

    To the mashed lentil, add green chillies, green coriander, ginger, salt, red chilli powder, chaat masala, cornflour,maida and garam masala. Mix well. Divide and shape the mixture equally into 3-5 wadas.(according your choice of size)

  3. 3

    Heat the oil in a pan (karhai); deep-fry the masoor wadas until light brown. Remove with a slotted spoon and drain the excess oil on absorbent paper.

  4. 4

    Garnish with finely chopped vegetables(sauteed) and salad.
