Ingredients

  1. 1small cabbage
  2. 1/2small coconut finely grated
  3. to tastesalt
  4. 1.5tspn black mustard seeds
  5. 2dry red chillies broken
  6. 1.5tspn split black gram
  7. Handfulfresh curry leaves
  8. 4 tablespooncoconut oil
  9. 1large green chilli slit

Steps

    Chop the cabbage finely(preferably lengthwise). wash and pat dry

  2. 2

    Heat oil in a wok and temper with dry red chilli, green chilli, mustard seeds, black gram and curry leaves

  3. 3

    As the seeds splutter and you get the nutty aroma from the gram, add the cabbage

  4. 4

    Give it a good mix

  5. 5

    Add salt to taste and ginger paste

  6. 6

    Mix well and cook covered on Low heat until cabbage soften a bit without adding water

  7. 7

    Take off heat and add the coconut and mix well

  8. 8

    Serve warm with steamed rice and sambhar
