Place the mashed potato in a mixing bowl

Add the dry spices, salt,green chilli, ginger,asafoetida,cumin and carom seeds

Mix well and add the rice followed by coriander leaves and lemon juice

Mix well and let the mix rest for 5-7 minutes

Spread the poppy seeds on a plate
- 6
Make small patties/Cutlets of mixture and coat each well with poppy seeds
- 7
Heat oil to shallow/ deep fry(as you may choose to fry the fritters)

Fry them well till both sides are crisp and slightly brown

Let the fried Cutlets rest on an absorbent paper for a while
- 10
Serve them while warm accompanied by ketchup/chutnies
