Mutton Kasha
Steps

Wash and pat dry mutton on a kitchen towel.

Marinate the mutton pieces with yoghurt, coriander powder, cumin powder, turmeric powder and red chilli powder for atleast 1 hour.

Heat oil in a pan, add bay leaves, cardamoms, cinnamons and cloves. Wait for a minute

Add the sliced onion and cook stirring constantly, till light brown.

Add the onion-ginger-garlic-green chilli paste, fry for 2-3 minutes on low to medium heat till oil separates.

Stir in the mutton pieces along with the marinade. cook on high heat for 2 to 3 minutes.

Add the poppy seeds paste and salt. Stir constantly on medium or high heat till the juices from the mutton evaporate and oil separates.

Now turn off the heat and transfer the mutton from pan to a pressure cooker.

Add 3/4th cup warm water and garam masala powder. Mix well.

Cover the pressure cooker with lid and pressure cook on medium heat till 4 to 5 whistles. If you are not using a pressure cooker, add extra water and cook covered on low heat till the mutton gets done.

Check for tenderness and serve hot with rice.
