Steps

Soak the chhole overnight in normal water.

In a muslin cloth, tie the tea leaves, cloves, cardamom and cinnamon.

Boil the chhole in a pressure cooker by adding the muslin cloth and some salt in it. Boil till 5-whistles.

Keep them aside.

Heat some oil in a wok and add the cumin seeds, bayleaf, and saute till the aroma comes out.

Add the ginger garlic paste and saute it for sometime. Add the onion paste and saute till the oil separates. Add the red chilli powder, kashmiri red chilli powder, and coriander powder and cook it very well.

Add the tomato puree and saute till the oil separates.

Add the chhole along with the water. Mix it well and bring it to boil.

Add the salt and sugar. Sugar is added to balance the salt.
