Ingredients

  • 1/2 cupUrad daal (soak for 2 hours and grind)
  • 1/4 teaspoonCumin seeds
  • 1/2 pinchAsafoetida
  • To tasteSalt
  • 1 teaspoonGinger and Green chilli paste
  • 2 cupCurd
  • 1 teaspoonChat masala
  • 1 teaspoonBlack salt (or according to taste)
  • 1 teaspoonRoasted cumin seeds powder
  • 1 teaspoonRed chilli powder
  • 1 cupOil

Steps

  1. 1

    In a bowl, combine grinded urad daal, salt, cumin seeds, asafoetida and Ginger-Green chilli paste and mix them very well.

    Now heat oil in a frying pan and drop vadas into it and deep fry them.

    Now in a bowl, take curd, black salt, red chilli powder and roasted cumin seeds powder, mix them well and keep it aside.

  4. 4

    Meanwhile, boil water in a pan and switch it off. Then drop fried vadas in it and soak it for 2-4 minutes.

  5. 5

    Drain all excess water from it and drop then in curd mixture.

    Your dahi vada is ready to serve.
