Ingredients

3-4 servings
  1. 500 gramhilsha fish
  2. 2brinjal cut into 2 inch pieces
  3. 2 tablespoonmustard oil
  4. 2 teaspoonturmeric powder
  5. 1 teaspoonkashmiri red chilli powder
  6. 5green chilli
  7. To tastesalt
  8. 1/2 teaspoonmustard seed paste
  9. 1/2 teaspoonmustard seed
  10. 1 tablespooncumin powder
  11. 1 teaspoonginger paste

    Firstly marinate fish with salt and turmeric powder and keep aside.

  2. 2

    Brinjal pieces coat with salt and turmeric powder and deep fry in mustard oil and keep aside.

  3. 3

    In a same pan add mustard oil and shallow fry the hilsha fish and keep aside.

  4. 4

    In a same pan add 1/2 teaspoon mustard seed and allow to crackle. Add ginger paste cumin powder, turmeric and kashmiri red chilli powder and saute till the raw aroma disappear. Add green chilli and mustard seed paste and saute for a while. Add hot water 1 cup and also add fish and boil for 5 -10 min.
