Ingredients

25 minutes
4 servings
  1. 3-4Potatoes (peeled and cut into thick bite size pieces)
  2. 2 tbspscorn flour or singhada flour,if making for vrat
  3. Oil to deep fry
  4. 1/2 tspRed chilli powder
  5. 1.1/2 tspAmchor(dry mango) powder
  6. 1/2 tspDry mint powder
  7. 1 tbspcoriander leaves and green chillies to garnish
  8. to tasteSendha namak(salt)

Steps

25 minutes
  1. 1

    Peel & prick the potatoesApply Sendha namak(salt)and keep aside for 10 minute.Add corn flour or singhada flour and mix well.

  2. 2

    Heat the oil and deep fry the potatoes on a slow flame until the potatoes become soft not brown take out from the oil.

  3. 3

    Place each potato on a flat surface & press slightly with a palm of the hand to flatten it without breaking.

  4. 4

    Just before serving reheat the oil & deep fry the potatoes until crisp & golden brown
    Remove from the oil and keep on paper towel in a broad flat dish.

  5. 5

    Mix together all the dry spices (red chilli powder, mint powder, & mango powder) and toss the potatoes from both sides in this spice mix immediately.
    Check the salt add as required.

  6. 6

    To serve as snack arrange on a serving platter, garnish with coriander leaves and green chillies & serve hot.
