  2. 4store-bought pie crusts or 3 1/2 cups all-purpose flour (about 500 grams) homemade pie dough, for which you'll need:

  4. 3/4 cupcold unsalted butter (about 180 grams)
  5. 2egg yolks
  6. 1/2 cupwater (about 120 ml)
  7. The Apples
  8. 4apples
  9. 3 1/2 tablespoonsunsalted butter (about 50 grams)
  10. Golden Syrup
  11. 1 cupsugar (about 200 grams)
  12. 1/3 cuplemon juice (about 100 ml)
  13. 1/3 cupwater (about 100 ml)
  14. Glaze
  15. 1egg white
  16. 2 1/2 cupspowdered sugar (about 300 grams)
  17. A fewdrops of lemon juice

    If you choose to make homemade pie dough, start by preparing the dough.

    Make the golden syrup by simmering the sugar, water, and lemon juice together. Let it cook until it turns golden, about 20 minutes.

    Spoon out a little syrup to test the texture.

    Slice the apples and sauté them in butter.

    Add the syrup, finish simmering, set aside, and cut circles of pie dough about 8 inches (20 cm) in diameter.

    Arrange the apples on the dough circles, brush the inner and outer edges with water.

    Fold the dough to form a donut shape.

    Cut out the inner circle and bake for 25 minutes at 350°F (180°C).

    Mix the glaze ingredients and cover the donuts once they have cooled.
