I learned this recipe watching my grandma when I was little, she used a big dutch oven but I made that one and only change in the recipe to using a slow cooker because nothing else brings out the flavor in food better!

Ingredients

  • 2 lbsstew meat preferably sirloin
  • 8medium potatoes
  • 1 1/2-2 lbscarrots
  • 1medium onion (optional)
  • 1medium tomato chopped-not too ripe
  • 1small green pepper
  • 3-4 quartsbeef broth
  • 1 dishflour to coat the meat
  • 1 tspsalt or mrs dash or more depending on your taste
  • 1 tsppepper
  • 6bullion cubes for extra beef flavor

Steps

  1. 1

    Peel and cut potatoes and carrots to bit sized pieces.

  2. 2

    Coat the meat lightly with flour then fry in a skillet until brown and only partly cooked.

  3. 3

    Dice or chop the onion and green pepper, remember a little green pepper goes a long way.

  4. 4

    Chop the tomato.

  5. 5

    Add all the ingredients to the broth in a preheated slowcooker.

  6. 6

    Cook for about 5 to 6 hours stirring occasionaly.
    Serve and enjoy.
