Pooranam Obbattu

Pooranam Obbattu is a traditional flat bread which is made with toor dal.
Steps

Mix all-purpose flour, rava, salt in a large mixing bowl.

Incorporate water gradually to get smooth dough.

Add oil and give a good mix.

Set aside for one hour minimum.

Pressure cook toor dal for 1 whistle.

Open the lid after warm, add Jaggery, cardamom powder and grind until smooth.

Transfer into a bowl, make lemon sized balls.

Take obbattu sheet, grease with a drop of ghee or cooking oil.

Take gooseberry sized all-purpose flour dough, by this time it should have the elasticity texture.

Spread the dough evenly and place the dumpling in the middle, cover evenly.

Pat them gently.

Transfer carefully on hot tawa drizzled with ghee or cooking oil.

Remove the sheet carefully.

Cook both the sides until you get brown spots in medium flame.

Fold and remove.

Serve in hot with ghee or milk.
