Powdered pap (akamu)

Since I started making my pap this way, I no longer have the fear that it will get sour and I travel with it and won't have to buy pap from unknown people for my baby.
Powdered pap (akamu)
Since I started making my pap this way, I no longer have the fear that it will get sour and I travel with it and won't have to buy pap from unknown people for my baby.
Steps
- 1
Soak dawa and gero for a day, wash and pick stones then add ginger, kenemperi and take to the mill to grind.
- 2
Add water to make thick paste then seive and throw away shaft.
- 3
Alloe to settle then throw water away, Use two sieves to seive out the remaining water. I normally fold my local cloth seive (used for liquid) into 4 and put in my plastic seive (used in washing rice etc) then I put it in a big bowl then pour prepared pap liquid cover and allow to seive gradually.
- 4
When its totally seived, I spread to dry for 2days or until totally dry.
- 5
Take to the mill and grind dry or use blender to make it smooth.
- 6
Powdered pap ready to use at anytime. No fear of getting soured.
