#diwali Kheel Batasha (sweet puffed rice with sugar drops) are an inescapable part of celebrating Diwali in Delhi and uttar-pradesh.We worship goddess lakshmi and ganesha and use (sweet puffed rice with sugar drops) as bhog.This #diwali I prepared Gulabi kheel(puffed rice)-batashe(sugar drops ) bhog with a twist using Rose flavor syrup –sharing here-

In a pan mix 15 small batashe(sugar drops)or 1/2cup sugar with ½ cup water and cook till thick sugar syrup is prepared.To check, drop a drop of sugar syrup in water,if it does not dissolve,then it is ready.

Remove from heat,add rose syrup and rose essence to the prepared sugar syrup.Add 2cups kheel(puffed rice)to the syrup and stir gently and constantly till sugar is coated on kheel(puffed rice).cool.Decorate with fresh rose petals.
