Ingredients

12 servings
  • 240 gmsself raising flour
  • 1/4 tspbaking soda
  • 115 gmsmargarine
  • 2eggs
  • 1 cupbuttermilk (Mala)
  • 10 gmscocoa
  • 200 gmsgranulated sugar
  • 1 tspvanilla essence

Steps

  1. 1

    Prepared your 12 hole cupcakes Case. Preheat the oven to 180℃

  2. 2

    Sieve the flour and baking soda. Cream sugar and margarine until fluffy. Add eggs, one at a time to avoid cuddling.

  3. 3

    Add the essence and continue mixing.

  4. 4

    Put the flour alternating with buttermilk,begining and ending with the flour.

  5. 5

    Divide the batter into two portions. Add cocoa in to portion and mix well.

  6. 6

    Spoon half plain batter and cocoa batter into the cupcakes cases, fill it 3/4.

  7. 7

    Bake for btwn 12-15 minutes until the toothpick comes out clean.

  8. 8

    You can frost with, buttercream or whipped cream,..or eat them as they are with a cup of tea.

  9. 9

    NB: You can make buttermilk by adding a tsp of Lemon juice to cup of milk, and resting it for 10 minutes before use. The milk must be at room temperature.
