Thai-Style Sweet Cassava

I still remember, since I was a child, I loved this cassava so much. It started with my grandma who often sent dishes and snacks to her grandchildren. She really loved cooking and making traditional Indonesian dishes and snacks, including this sweet cassava. I recently found out that this is actually Thai-style sweet cassava. It's been a long time since I had this cassava, and I almost forgot about it, especially since my house is now far from grandma's. Then I saw a post by Ms. Hanny making this sweet cassava, and I immediately bookmarked it. I was craving it so much. Despite having a bad flu, I went to the market just for this cassava. It was a bold move since I had never handled raw cassava before. And tadaaa... it turned out to be super easy, delicious, and sweet. It was perfect for me while I was having a flu, headache, and stuffy nose, with a bitter taste in my mouth. I made it a while ago, but my Cookpad app was having errors, so I couldn't even post a comment. Thank you, Ms. HanHanny, for the inspiration. I really enjoyed reminiscing with grandma's creation. Let's go!

Steps
- 1
Clean and cut the cassava as desired.
- 2
Boil the cassava with water, sugar, and pandan leaves until thickened and tender, then add the cornstarch solution to thicken.
NOTE:
- At this stage, if you like it soupy, you can add more water.
- In my area, besides the thick coconut milk sauce, the cassava is also given a little coconut milk at this stage, but some prefer it without any coconut milk at all.
It's all up to personal taste. - 3
Make the coconut milk sauce: boil the coconut milk, pandan leaves, and salt together.
If you're lazy, just use Kara coconut milk. - 4
It's savory and tender! Addictive!
