Ingredients

  • 1whole Hilsa fish (approx 250 gram)
  • For stuffing :-
  • 1medium sized chopped onion
  • 1 tspgarlic paste
  • 1 tspgreen chilli paste
  • 1 tbspcashew-poppy seeds paste
  • to tasteSalt
  • 1 tbspmustard oil
  • For fry :-
  • 1 tsplemon juice
  • 1 tspcumin powder
  • 1 tbspkashmiri red mirchi powder
  • 1 tspIndian black salt
  • 1 tbspsattu
  • 2 tbspfried onions
  • to tasteSalt
  • 2 tbspmustard oil
  • 1 tspghee

Steps

  1. 1

    Heat oil in a pan.

  2. 2

    Add onion and saute for 10 seconds.

  3. 3

    Add all the ingredients for stuffing and fry it.

  4. 4

    Turn the gas off and keep the mixture aside.

  5. 5

    Wash the fish and make a slit.

  6. 6

    Stuff the mixture inside the fish.

    Combine all the ingredients (for frying) in a bowl.

    Marinate the fish for about 15 minutes.

    Brush both sides of the fish with oil and salt.

  10. 10

    Preheat the oven to 180 degree celcius.

  11. 11

    Place the fish on a metal rack.

  12. 12

    Roast it for 15 to 20 minutes or until it becomes golden brown.

  13. 13

    Serve hot with salad.
