Ingredients

  1. 1 poundground beef (or chicken)
  2. 1 poundloose pork sausage (or chicken)
  3. 28 ouncescrushed tomatoes
  4. 15 ouncestomato sauce
  5. 6 ouncestomato paste
  6. 1onion (diced)
  7. 1 tablespoonolive oil
  8. 1 tablespoonminced garlic
  9. 1/2 cupfresh basil (chopped)
  10. 2 teaspoonsraw sugar
  11. 1 teaspoonherbs de provence
  12. 1 teaspoonblack pepper
  13. 1 teaspooncrushed fennel seeds

Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

    Brown beef and sausage in skillet and move to large sauce pan when done

  2. 2

    Saute onion and garlic in olive oil on medium heat in skillet and move to large sauce pan when done

  3. 3

    Combine all other ingredients in large sauce pan with beef, sausage, onion and garlic

  4. 4

    Cook on low heat for 4 hours. Cover for thinner sauce, leave uncovered for thicker sauce
