Steps

Wash and soak the rice for 15 minutes.

Heat ghee in a pan. Roast almonds, peanuts and raisins. Keep aside.

In the same pan, add cloves and bay leaf. Roast till fragrant.

Drain the soaked rice and add it to the pan. Roast it a little in the ghee.

Add water and cover the rice. Allow it to cook. At the same time, dry roast sesame seeds till they begin to crackle a little. Crush the sesame seeds to a coarse powder.

When the rice are almost cooked, add the jaggery and sesame powder. Mix it gently in the rice.

Cover and cook the rice till done. Now fluff the rice and add roasted peanuts, almonds and raisins. Mix gently.

Garnish the rice with some some sesame seeds and dried rose petals (optional). Serve hot.
