Beans and Franks

Beans and Franks is not a dish I grew up eating and I've never made them. My husband mentioned the other day that he liked them and grew up eating them. So I figured it was about time to give it a try! Hearty meal for a cold winter day!

Steps
- 1
Add bacon to pan over medium heat. Once fat renders, add onion and celery and cook until vegetables are soft. Transfer to baking dish.
- 2
Add sliced hot dogs to pan and brown. (I used Hebrew National beef hot dogs) Transfer to baking dish.
- 3
Add beans (I used Bush's canned beans, drained and rinsed) and remaining ingredients to baking dish with hot dogs and vegetables. Add about 1 cup water. Mix well.
- 4
Bake uncovered at 300° about an hour. This long low cooking time allows the flavors to blend and sauce to thicken.
