Linguine puttanesca 🍝

This is one our favourites but we haven’t had it for a while so I thought I’d post to Cookpad for a reminder. Fun fact: the direct translation is ‘tart’s pasta’
Linguine puttanesca 🍝
This is one our favourites but we haven’t had it for a while so I thought I’d post to Cookpad for a reminder. Fun fact: the direct translation is ‘tart’s pasta’
Steps
- 1
Boil the pasta until al dente. Don’t forget to salt the water and wait for the water to boil before adding the pasta.
- 2
Finely chop the peppers, onion, chilli, garlic and basil stems (keep the leaves for later)
- 3
In a hot pan “melt” the anchovies and then add the chopped vegetables
- 4
Once softened add the balsamic vinegar and reduce. This adds a sweet sour tang to the sauce 😉
- 5
Add the tomatoes, mixed herbs and season with salt and pepper. Reduce.
- 6
Chop the olives and basil leaves and stir in
- 7
Mix the pasta into the sauce (not the other way round) and add a dash of water from the pasta. Serve and enjoy 😊 🍝
