Preheat oven to 350°F.

Melt butter in 11x13-inch cake pan. Spread brown sugar in melted butter covering bottom of pan. Place pineapple rings on top of sugar.

Mix cake mix as directed (use drained pineapple juice with water according to cake mix directions). Pour batter over pineapples into cake pan; spread evenly.

Place pan in oven and bake for 45 minutes. Cool 5 minutes. Loosen edges around pan. Invert pan onto plate.

Place cherries in center of pineapple rings.
