Ingredients

40 - 45 minutes
3 people
  • 250 gramBasmati rice
  • 150 gramGreen peas
  • 100 gramPotatoes
  • 1 tspGaram masala powder
  • 4 pcsCinnamon
  • 4-5clove
  • 2 Cardamom
  • 1 tbspDesi ghee
  • 6-7 pieceBlack pepper
  • To tasteSalt
  • as neededCoriander leaves finely chopped
  • 2-3Basil leaves
  • 1Carrot finely chopped
  • 1Beetroot finely chopped
  • 1Capsicum chopped
  • 2Onions chopped
  • 50 gmCashew (OPTIONAL)
  • as neededRaisins (optional)
  • 2 1/5 cupWater

Steps

40 - 45 minutes
  1. 1

    First of all wash the basmati rice clearly and keep it aside.
    Cut potatoes, carrots and beetroot into small pieces and wash them along the peas properly.

  2. 2

    Heat desi ghee in a cooker and add basil leaves, cinnamon, black pepper, cardamom and clove.
    Add Chopped onions and capsicum and saute it until it turns light brown.
    Now add chopped vegetables (potatoes, carrots, beetroot and peas) into it and cook it for 10 minutes on medium flame.
    Add some salt into it as per your taste or need.

    After cooking it for 10 minutes add basmati rice and 2.5 cup of water.
    Break the cashews into two parts and add them into the cooker along with raisins.
    If you don't want to add dry fruits then you can skip it.

  4. 4

    Mix all this properly and close the lead of the cooker.
    Cook it for at least one whistle and then put off the gas flame.
    Let the air to be blow up. And after 5 minutes open the lead of the cooker and sprinkle some garam masala powder and garnish it with some finely chopped coriander leaves.

    Serve it hot with curry, pulses etc.
