Slice the beef into thin strips and place in a bowl. Thinly slice the onion and add it to the beef.

Add the whole cardamom pods, bay leaf, cinnamon stick, and whole nutmeg to the beef and onion. Mix well to combine.

In a small bowl, mix the salt, ground spices, crushed garlic, lemon juice, and oil. Add this mixture to the beef and mix everything thoroughly. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 6 hours. Cook the marinated beef in a pan over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until the shawarma is cooked through. Serve hot with tahini sauce and salads.
