Pork wet fry
Been craving pork for a while and its rare in my town so had to order and it was finally delivered...ile ugali nimekula wacha tu
Cooking Instructions
- 1
Cut pork into pieces, put in a sufuria and boil with a little salt until tender, drain any soup if still remaining and preserve it
- 2
Add onions into pork and fry till cooked. No need to add oil as pork is very oily
- 3
Add tomatoes and cover, reduce heat to medium. Keep stirring once in a while so it doesn't burn and until tomatoes are well cooked
- 4
Break the cube into the preserved soup and return to the cooking pork. Adjust seasoning as necessary and continue cooking until the liquid is reduced (very thick gravy almost non existent)
- 5
Remove from heat and serve with hot ugali or fries

Very easy to make, just buy tamarind soup mix (see pic) in Asian/Filipino stores. But when I was a kid, I'd see my mom squeezing out the juice from real tamarind fruits just to make this dish. It was my favorite dish as a child.Choose pork cuts with bones, as this makes the broth richer. SpottedByD -
