Ingredients

  1. For Bati dough-
  2. 1 cupWheat flour
  3. 1/4 cupBesan
  4. 1/4 cupBread crumbs
  5. 1 tspHaldi
  6. salt lesser than required
  7. 1/8 cupGhee
  8. Water to knead a soft dough
  9. 1 cupghee to soak and serve bati
  10. For Sattu Stuffing-
  11. 1/2 cupRoasted Chana flour
  12. Salt as required
  13. 1 pinchHaldi
  14. 1 tspRed chilli
  15. 1 TSPMustard oil
  16. Water to develop consistancy
  17. 1 tspCaron seeds
  18. 1 pinchAsafoetida
  19. 1 tspCumin seeds
  20. For Tamatar Chokha-
  21. 2roasted and peeled tomatoes
  22. salt as required
  23. 2-3Green chilies finely chopped
  24. Coriander
  25. 1 tspChat masala
  26. 1 tspCooked mustard oil
  27. For Aloo Chokha-
  28. Roasted and peeled potato
  29. Salt as required
  30. Onion small finely chopped
  31. Green chilies and green coriander finely chopped
  32. 1 tspChat masala
  33. 1 TSPCooked mustard oil
  34. For Masala Dal-
  35. 1/2 cupToor dal
  36. 1 tspHaldi
  37. Salt as rrquired
  38. Finely chopped tomatoes, finely chopped green chilies, finely chopped coriander
  39. 1 pinchasafoitida
  40. 1 tspCumin seeds
  41. 8-9Curry patta finely chopped
  42. 1 TSPoil for tadka
  43. Ghee roasted red chilli powder to garnish
  44. Finely chopped onion in vinegar as salad

Steps

  1. 1

    Make dough with the dough ingredients and prepare the filing by mixing filling ingredients. Make sure that the dough is not very hard. It should be soft. Filling should be properly make so that it’s not dry when eating.

    Prepare small balls from dough and fill in with the prepared filling.

    Preheat the oven at 100 degrees for 10 min. After that Bake the batis at 150 degrees for 40 min. Keep turning the sides and the shuffle the temp if required.

    Prepare the Tamatar and Aloo Chokha by finely mixing the ingredients.

    Boil the dal with water, haldi and salt.

    When properly cooked, add tadka. For tadka, add oil in a pan, heat it, add asafoetida, cumin seeds, finely chopped tomatoes, curry leaves and add add. Finely add green chillies and coriander. Add some ghee cooked with red chillies to garnish.

    Serve the exotic Sattu Bati dipped in ghee with Tamatar, Aloo Chokha and Dal as a complete platter and be ready to receive compliments. 😊👍
