Garlic Cheese Pastry Bites

We had some special cheese that needed to be used up, and as our local pub has a “locals bring & everyone eats, thing” on a Sunday Lunchtime, I thought I would make these. Garlic Cheese Pastry Bites

Sift Flour into a bowl, add the Margarine or Butter

Rub mix between your fingers until it resembles breadcrumbs.

Add the grated Cheese and mix again with the fingers. This evenly mixes the ingredients and prevents lumps of cheese happening.

Add a little water, then knead the mix, at a time, until it resembles a nice elastic dough. Chill in the fridge for at least 30 minutes.

Grease baking trays with the extra Margarine or Butter.

Add flour to a chopping board and roll out the pastry to about the thickness of a pencil, (or thinner if you want them more crispy.)

Cut into squares and place, a little apart, on the baking trays.

Cook in a medium to hot oven for 10 minutes, turn and / or swop the trays around and cook for a further 5-10 minutes, (depending on thickness), until golden brown. Cool and serve, with a dip, or on their own. These will go down well with a pint!! Enjoy!!
