Ingredients

  • 12 ouncestomatillos
  • 1/2medium onion diced
  • 4 teaspoonsminced garlic
  • 1 cupcilantro
  • 2 teaspoonslime juice
  • 1 tablespoonpeanut oil
  • To tastesalt
  • 1 tablespoondiced jalapeno peppers optional
  • 1 cupwater
  • 2 tablespoonsmaple syrup optional

Steps

  1. 1

    Add the oil to the pan fry the onion and garlic. Till onions are soft.

    Cut the tomatillos in half add to the onions. Sauté for 7 minutes add the cilantro and lime juice.

    Add water and boil for 20-25 minutes. Add peppers here if using. Stirring occasionally. Turn off heat for 10 minutes.
