This is a protein rich sweet popular in South India. All purpose flour is usually used for outer covering but I have given a healthy twist by using urad dal batter.

This is a protein rich sweet popular in South India. All purpose flour is usually used for outer covering but I have given a healthy twist by using urad dal batter.
Steps

Wash and soak urad dal and raw rice for about one hour. Then drain off excess water and grind it until smooth and fluffy. Keep aside

Soak Green gram in water for six hours and then pressure cook for two whistles. Drain off the water and allow it to cool

Add coconut, jaggery to the green gram and blend into coarse paste without adding water.

Heat ghee in a pan,add the ground paste,cardomom powder and saute for a few minutes. Allow it to cool

Make them into equal sized balls.

Heat oil in a pan.Dip the balls in urad dal batter and deep fry in medium flame until crisp.
