Ingredients

12 servings

8eggs
400 gcaster sugar
400 gself raising flour
400 gbutter
2 tspbaking powder
50 gapricot jam
2 blocksyellow icing
1 blockblack icing
1pot of mini honeycomb (bought from lakeland)

Print off animal shapes to use as a stencil.

Mix all the cake ingredients and bake in two equal tins.

Wait to cool and then stack with jam in the middle.

Roll out the yellow icing and cover.

Roll out the black icing. Ensure it is long enough to cover the cake circumfrance. I used a paper ruler. Cut to exact length and cut the bottom so it is a straight line.

Using the animal stensils place along the bottom to get a good spacing.

Leave at least a cm along the bottom and start cutting round the animals. Place on the cake.

Use the honeycomb to write a name or message as well as place on the edge of the cake.

I love to cook but hate to do dishes. Ideal recipes taste delicious, are cooked in one pan and in less than 30 minutes. Although the occassional lengthy recipes for a weekend are lovely too.
