Moong Daal Halwa is one of the most loved sweet delicacies.This delicious delight is made with Moong daal and dry fruits cooked in desi ghee.
Steps

Soak moong daal for 3-4 hours.Wash the soaked daal nicely and drain out all the extra water by drying it over a muslin cloth.Coarse grind the soaked daal.

Take a heavy bottomed pan/kadhai and add 1/2 cup ghee.Add besan and semolina and and cook by continuously stirring on medium flame till golden brown.

Now add Moong daal and 1 cup ghee to it.Cook by continuously stirring till all the water from moong daal gets evaporated.It is only after this that the moong daal paste will stop sticking to the pan.So till this time which is about 15 minutes Keep stirring continuously on low flame.

Now let it cook for about 30 minutes more on low flame or till Moong daal becomes nicely dry and golden brown.Keep stirring in between.This cooked moong daal can be stored for about a month in the refrigerator.

In a heavy bottomed pan add 1 1/2 cup water.Add 1 1/2 cup sugar to it and bring it to boil.Add 1 1/2 cup roasted moong daal to it.

Let it cook on low medium flame for about 5-7 minutes.Keep stirring in between.
Switch off the flame hen you get nice medium thick consistency.Transfer to the serving bowl and relish the delicious dessert.
