Soak the Chana dal in the bowl for at least 15-20 minutes and soak the rice separately for 10 minutes.

Now put daal and rice in the cooker and put salt and haldi and 1 pinch hing into it and keep it on the low flame. When one whistle blows turn off the flame.

The khichdi will look like this as shown in the picture below.

Now put some ghee, mustard seeds, Curry patta in the separate small pan and also put some red chilli and 1 tbsp dhania powder into it for tadka and put it into the khichdi as shown in the picture below.

Our Chana dal khichdi is ready to serve. Now garnish it with green chilli,coriander leaves and with chopped onions and tomatoes and serve it with buttermilk.
