Akki rotti is a popular breakfast dish of Karnataka.I have prepared basic Akki Rotti with rice flour,green chillies,ginger,coriander leaves and coconut.You can add onion,carrot,leafy greens that is methi leaves etc.Akki Rotti is delicious and healthy breakfast dish.

Akki rotti is a popular breakfast dish of Karnataka.I have prepared basic Akki Rotti with rice flour,green chillies,ginger,coriander leaves and coconut.You can add onion,carrot,leafy greens that is methi leaves etc.Akki Rotti is delicious and healthy breakfast dish.
Steps

Take a wide bowl.Add rice flour,salt,jeera,chillies,ginger,chopped coconut pieces and coriander leaves.Mix well.

Now add water slowly and knead a soft dough.

Divide the dough into equal parts.

Grease a polythene sheet and place the dough in centre and press it gently to make thin roti.Grease your hand and then start making roti.Make hole in the centre and also more on sides.You can use banana leaves instead of polythene sheet.

Heat a greased iron tava on medium flame and tranfer this roti carefully on the hot tava.Pour oil in the holes and on sides also.

After sometime flip it on the other side and cook it.It will become nice crispy. If you dont want crisp roti remove it a little early.Then you will get soft roti.

With the same process make the remaining rotis.

Serve hot with butter. Coconut Chutney or chutney powder can be served.
