Ingredients

  • 1 cupwhite beans, dry, the variety with black dots
  • 1/2 kgswiss chard
  • 1/2 tablespoondried coriander, dried, or 1/2 bunch of fresh coriander
  • 1 large onion
  • 5 garlic cloves
  • salt
  • pepper
  • 1/4 cupolive oil
  • paprika
  • lemon juice

    Wash the Swiss chard, and cut it (both stalk and leaves)

  2. 2

    Cook the beans for ½ hour with salt in water

  3. 3

    Add the Swiss chard for 10 minutes

  4. 4

    Crush garlic with mortar; cut onion in slices

  5. 5

    In a separate pan, put olive oil on medium fire, add onions for 2-3 minutes, then the garlic and dried coriander for 3-4 mins.

  6. 6

    Add the onions/garlic/coriander mixture to the Swiss chard, let cool

  7. 7

    Serve cold with paprika, lemon juice (or bou sfeir)
