Ingredients

  1. 4 medium potatoes
  2. 1/2 cupfine bulgur, well washed
  3. 2 cupsflour
  4. fresh mint or dried
  5. 2 large onions
  6. 1 cupwalnuts
  7. bread crumbs or crushed "kaak"
  8. cumin
  9. dried basil
  10. pepper
  11. salt

Cooking Instructions

    Fry the sliced onions in oil on medium heat for 5 mins. Add the walnuts to them

    Boil potatoes, and crush them with fork while still hot. Add salt, pepper, cumin, mint, basil

  3. 3

    Place the onion/walnut mixture in the pan/ then add the potatoe mix. Make a nice design with a knife. Add bread crumbs if available. Drizzle the olive oil on top.

    Bake in oven for 20-30 mins.

This recipe actually forgets to tell you to mix the bourghol and the flour to the crushed potatoes, you could also add a little water to make it easier.
I replaced kaak with toast, it works just fine.
Be careful not to burn the walnuts when frying them with the onions, and, by the way, it would be a good idea if you crush them a little.
Delicious!
I like it with lots and lots of cumin! :)
