Kibbe -- Lebanese Hamburger Steaks Kibbe -- Lebanese Hamburger Steaks
This is a recipe that my American-born Lebanese mother-in-law taught me. My husband loves it! You can easily make this at home.If you don't have a food processor, finely chop the onions. I adjust the spices to my husband's preference, but to be safe, start with a small amount and then adjust in Step 4. For a gluten-free version, use quinoa or millet instead of cracked wheat. I replaced kaak with toast, it works just fine.
Be careful not to burn the walnuts when frying them with the onions, and, by the way, it would be a good idea if you crush them a little.
Delicious!
I like it with lots and lots of cumin! :)
