In a pan, add oil and garlic (I crush the garlic and keep it in a jar in the refrigerator) until golden brown.

Add the 4 cups of water (for each cup of rice, use 2 cups of water) and salt to taste.

Rinse and drain the rice to remove starch, add it to the pan over medium heat. When the water is halfway absorbed, cover and lower the heat. Once the water is absorbed and the rice is fluffy, uncover and let it sit for a few minutes on very low heat, and it's ready!
