Ingredients

6 servings
  1. 1 tbsp.olive oil
  2. 1/2 lb.ground beef
  3. 1/2 cupsalsa verde
  4. 2 tsp.chili powder
  5. 1/4 tsp.garlic powder
  6. 6hot dogs
  7. 6hot dog buns
  8. Shredded lettuce
  9. Shredded cheese
  10. Crushed tortilla chips

Steps

  1. 1

    Heat the oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Once it's hot, add the beef. Cook, breaking it up as you go, until it is browned. Drain any fat. Pour the salsa verde into the skillet and stir in the seasonings. Then turn the heat to low to keep it heated while you prepare your hotdogs.

    Heat a pot of water over high heat. Once it reaches a boil, add the hot dogs and cook them about 6-7 minutes. Then drain them.

  3. 3

    To serve, scoop the hot dogs into the buns, then top with some of the meat mixture. From there, top with whatever toppings sound good. We like shredded lettuce, shredded cheese and crushed tortilla chips.

I love to bake and to try out new recipes! I'm always on the lookout for simple dinners for busy weeknights. A lot of the recipes I post on here are ones I've found on Pinterest or from different bloggers, and that I've tried and really enjoyed, but I always reference to where I got the recipe from in the recipe description and the pictures are my own. If there's no source listed, then it's a rare recipe that I came up with. I have two wonderful kids and I hope to pass on my love of cooking and baking to them.
