Ingredients

  1. 6 cupsflour
  2. 1 1/2 cupsugar
  3. 2 tspvanilla
  4. 1 pinchred chilli
  5. 1 pinchsalt
  6. 1 tspbaking powder
  7. 1 1/2 tbspyeast
  8. Luke warm water
  9. 1/4 cuppowdered milk (optional)
  10. Oil for deep frying

Cooking Instructions

    Mix flour, salt, chilli, baking powder, sugar, powdered milk if using and yeast in a big bowl.

    Add warm water small at a time until it comes to a viscous consistency. Mix well till all ingredients are incorporated.

    Cover and let rise in warm place for an hour or in a preheated oven for 30 minutes

    Heat oil for deep frying. Scoop batter into balls and fry on moderate heat. Turn and fry on other sides. Repeat till batter has been exhausted.

    Serve warm with condiments, sugar or savoury sauces.
