Ingredients

4person
  • 1/2 cupdry/fresh lotus seeds
  • 1 cupmix vegetables chopped
  • 3 cupscooked rice
  • 1small finely chopped onion
  • 1 tspblack pepper powder
  • to tasteSalt
  • 1 tbspsesame oil/vegetable oil
  • 1 tspsoy sauce

Steps

    Wash and soak dry lotus seeds in a water for about 1 hr.

  2. 2

    After 1hr add enough water to a deep pan add soaked lotus seeds and cook for 25-30 minutes.

  3. 3

    When seeds are cooked drain and keep aside for later use.

  4. 4

    Heat a pan in medium heat and add sesame oil or you can use vegetable oil.

  5. 5

    Add onion and cook until it turns translucent in colour.

  6. 6

    Add mix vegetables(I used peas and corrot)and half of cooked lotus seeds.

  7. 7

    Add black pepper powder,soy sauce and salt to taste,stir well and cook for 3-4 minutes.

  8. 8

    Now add cooked rice and stir well to mix everything nicely.

  9. 9

    Place a steamer add water to it and boil on high flame.

  10. 10

    Take a big bowl and place a parchement paper in a bowl.

  11. 11

    Put the rest of the lotus seeds to the bottom of it, and top with the fried rice.

  12. 12

    Wrap the rice with parchment paper and prepare like a package.

  13. 13

    Put the rice package into the steamer and steam for about 10 mins.

  14. 14

    Remove from the steamer and serve hot.
