Ingredients

  • 2 cupsfine bulgur (about 340 grams)
  • 1 cupflour (about 120 grams)
  • Salt
  • Cumin
  • Black pepper
  • 1 1/2 cupshot water (about 355 ml)
  • Ground beef
  • 1small onion, finely chopped (for the kibbeh mixture)
  • Minced garlic
  • Cornstarch, as needed for shaping
  • Chopped onion (for the filling)
  • Oil
  • Black pepper and mixed spices

Steps

    Place the 2 cups of bulgur in a bowl and pour the boiling hot water over it.

  2. 2

    Once the bulgur has absorbed the water, add the flour, salt, black pepper, cumin, and a spoonful of cornstarch. Knead well until the bulgur grains are mashed and the mixture is smooth.

    Refrigerate the mixture for 30 minutes.

  4. 4

    Meanwhile, prepare the filling: Cook the ground beef with chopped onion, minced garlic, spices, and oil in a pan. Once cooked, drain any excess liquid.

  5. 5

    Shape the kibbeh by forming the mixture into balls, filling each with the meat mixture. Place the finished kibbeh in the freezer before frying. Enjoy!
