I have had always amazing fish curry whenever i visit to kerala . Different style of fish curry some use coconut paste ,coconut milk or just the chilli paste and many more. My mom has a different way of making fish curry and my sil makes different she’s from kannur. So i get to taste every time something different. This one is my version and super simple i used seabass fish you can add any fish you want . This has everything that spice and tangy and little sweet from mango .

Ingredients

  • 1Whole fish
  • 1/2 cupgrated coconut
  • 4 clovesgarlic
  • 1 inchginger
  • 1 1/2 tspChilli powder
  • 1 tspCoriander powder
  • to tastesalt
  • 1/2 tspTurmeric powder
  • Kudampuli or tamarind juice lemon size
  • 1medium little ripe mango
  • leavesCurry
  • 3Green chilies
  • Coconut oil or normal oil
  • 1 Cupwater

Steps

  1. 1

    Wash and clean Fish keep aside. In a mixer add coconut,ginger garlic,chilli powder, turmeric powder,coriander powder salt few curry leaves add little water and make a smooth paste.

  2. 2

    In a pan add coconut oil add some curry leaves and then add the paste and sauté for while. Just keep adding water little by little and cook for while. You can adjust the spices again and salt here.

  3. 3

    Once you see the oil on top add the Tamarind or kudampuli and bring to boil when you taste it will be little sour and tangy. That’s when add the fish and mango and cover cook till fish is done. Garnish with some curry leaves and chillies and few drops coconut oil and cover and keep it close till you serve.

    So all that flavors get steep into fish and curry serve hot with rice.
