    Preheat the oven to 180°C.

    Cream the margarine and sugar until soft and fluffy.

    Add the eggs one at a time and whisk to incorporate air.

    Add essence and continue mixing.

  5. 5

    In a separate bowl sift the flour and baking powder.

  6. 6

    Add the sifted flour alternating with milk and fold in lightly.

  7. 7

    Pour batter into already prepared baking tin(s). Bake till skewer comes out clean. Allow to cool on a cooling rack.

    Finish off with desired icing(buttercream or whipped cream). Enjoy 😋
