Cooking Instructions
- 1
In a pot with water, cook the beef and fat with half the onion, bay leaves, and salt.
- 2
Once cooked, chop or shred the meat and set aside.
- 3
In the same broth where the meat was cooked, soak the ancho and guajillo chiles (seeded and deveined) for 15 minutes. Once hydrated, blend them with a little broth, garlic, cumin, cloves, ginger, and salt.
- 4
In a hot saucepan, add a little oil and the chile mixture, add one more cup of broth, and let it boil for 10 minutes.
- 5
Then add the meat and fat and let it simmer for 15 more minutes so the meat absorbs the flavor.
- 6
Heat a griddle. Take two tortillas, add some meat, fold the tortilla, and dip it slightly in the broth.
- 7
Fry the tacos to your preference.
- 8
Serve with onion, cilantro, radishes, and tomato salsa.

Mexican food is my favorite. The slow cooker is my favorite. So a dish like this kinda just happens. Honestly, I bought a new food chopper and wanted to make salsa and this was what I came up with to give me an excuse to make salsa 👍🏻 Whitetrash Gastronome -

BIRRIA TACOS 🌮 BIRRIA TACOS 🌮
To introduce TACOS or other mexican food to family members or friends from other countries can be difficult as not many have access to authentic mexican ingredients. Ancho, Pasilla and Guajillo chillies are hard to come by and these chilies are used in mexican food. Knowing what they can or cannot get helps us to come up with this recipe with minor adjustments without compromising on the taste of Birria Taco. This recipe uses dried chilies that is available in many Asian shops around the world since it's used in many Asian food. This dried chili is similar to Arbol chili (Chile de Árbol).#CA2025#CookpadApron2025#may2026#Birria#lunch#dinner#snack#appetizer#starter#beef#meat#mexican#texas#HEB#boneless#lamb#fingerfood#taco#redonion#pork#bites#chuckroast#slowcook#slowcooker#consomé Pinkblanket's Kitchen -

Chilorio Tacos Chilorio Tacos
I love all the flavors of Mexican cuisine. The pork chilorio is something I stumbled on by accident pre-packaged as I was looking for corn husks to make tamales. A happy accident. 😋🤩 Danielle Barnes -
Easy Birria Inspired Tacos Easy Birria Inspired Tacos
I couldn't find guajillo or other dried chiles required for authentic Mexican birria, so I came up with this recipe that uses more readily available peppers you can find in the supermarket. You can also skip the tacos and serve as a stew if preferred. Jake Grogan -
