Ingredients

  • 250 gmchole
  • 4oniom chopped
  • 2tomato chopped
  • 10garlic cloves
  • 1-2bay leaves
  • 4-5black pepper
  • 2-3long
  • 1-2green cardamom
  • 1black cardamom
  • 1-2cinnamon stick
  • 2 inchginger chopped
  • 1/2 tspcumin seeds
  • 1/2 tspturmeric powder
  • 2 tspred chilli powder
  • 1 tspcumin coriander powder
  • 1/2 tspgaram masala
  • to tasteSalt
  • 2 tspchole masala
  • 2green chillies cut into two
  • 6 tbspoil
  • as neededCoriander leaves

Steps

  1. 1

    First boil the chana.

    Put the ginger, garlic and onion in the grinding jar and grind it into smooth paste(Add little water if needed).

    When paste has become smooth, take it out from the jar.

  4. 4

    Put the tomato in the grinding jar and grind it into paste.

  5. 5

    Heat oil in a pressure cooker pan, add whole garam masala and cumin seeds.

    Fry it for few seconds on medium flame and then reduce the flame to low.

  7. 7

    Add turmeric powder and red chilli powder, mix it and cook it for few seconds on low flame.

  8. 8

    Add ginger, garlic and onion paste, cover the lid(without whistle) and cook it for one minute on medium flame.

  9. 9

    Put cumin coriander powder and chole masala, mix it properly.

  10. 10

    Cover the lid(without whistle) and cook it for 1/2 minute on medium flame.

  11. 11

    Add tomato paste, cover the lid(without whistle) and cook it for one minute on medium flame.

  12. 12

    Add boiled chole and cook it for 2 whistles.After 2 whistles, turn off the flame and let the pressure cooker cool down completely.

  13. 13

    Open it carefully and add coriander leaves and green chillies...mix it well.

  14. 14

    So, chole masala is ready to serve, serve it hot with jeera rice, bhature or naan.
