Paneer is a universal favourite ingredient and in this recipe I have made popcorn paneer which is a crispy tasty snack that requires few ingredients and takes only half an hour to make. They can be enjoyed as starters or evening tea time snacks.

Paneer is a universal favourite ingredient and in this recipe I have made popcorn paneer which is a crispy tasty snack that requires few ingredients and takes only half an hour to make. They can be enjoyed as starters or evening tea time snacks.

Make the marinade with all the spice powders and lime juice mentioned. Coat all paneer cubes well. Refrigerate for 10 mins

Take the breadcrumbs, beaten eggs, flour and crushed cornflakes in separate bowls ready for coating paneer. First dip each marinated paneer cube into the flour, then eggs and into the cornflakes breadcrumbs mixture. Repeat the same again for strong outer covering (double coating gives best taste and texture) Make them into round popcorn shapes.

Heat oil on high and deep fry the paneer carefully. Drain excess oil on a tissue.

Serve hot with ketchup and mint chutney.

For vegetarians instead of egg you can use a paste made with Maida and water.
